IT Labor Category Descriptions - Systems Analyst III

Experience:

5 years of IT industry experience, covering a combination of any of the following technologies: database, client/server, web, local area networking, wide area networking, e-mail systems, network management systems, and information systems security.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other relevant discipline.

Functional Responsibility:

Leads a team that evaluates and recommends computer systems architecture to solve simple to complex business challenges and/or requirements. Confers with end-users, managers, business personnel, and technical personnel to identify functional areas and requirements as well as types of data to be processed. Develops understanding of an organization's current architecture, business functions and challenges, future IT plans, corporate standards, and emerging trends to recommend hardware and software infrastructure. Acts as technical expert, addressing problems of systems integration, compatibility and multiple platforms. Provides guidance to junior staff. May perform other duties as assigned.
